HOLLYWOOD, CA - And your next American Idol Is..... NOT Karen Rodriguez. Yes, America said goodbye to the 21-year-old bilingual ballad singer and diva wannabe from New York after judges chose not to use their save card on Karen Rodriguez.
This leads us to wonder just how long into the show of this seasons American Idol do judges have to use their save card? It wouldn't possibly be all too fair if they could hang onto that save card right down to the final two or three contestants, now would it? Although it would put a twist to the final couple shows, it would be telling America that their votes don't matter.
Maybe Karen Rodriguez wasn't worth saving this week, but maybe this also wasn't her week to go. Why is America continuing to vote more for Haley Reinhart than other contestants more worthy of another week? Our prediction is that Reinhart will be next to go... it's either she goes or my television is going... out my window.
Do the judges really influence America's votes? We sure do think so, and Jason... I mean Jacob Lusk (Steve Tyler blooper) is one of the next people we feel should be going, and is definitely not worthy of being in the top five contestants. You just can't bring the church and theatrics to every song, it just doesn't sound right. However, with continuing support from judge Randy Jackson, Jacob Lusk seems to continue soaring into the next week. If Randy said he was awful would people still vote? Hmm.....
In the meantime, while we wait for American Idol to clarify just how long they have to use their save card, we say goodbye to Karen Rodriguez, who has gone from Hollywood Fame to Hollywood Shame.

Rapper Nate Dogg Dead At 41

LONG BEACH, CA - Rapper Nate Dogg, whose real name is Nathaniel Hale, died Tuesday, March 15th, 2011 in Long Beach.
The cause of death has not been immediately released when Nate Dogg's family announced the death of the well known rapper to the Long Beach Press Telegram, however Nate Dogg had suffered two recent strokes, one in 2007, which left him partially paralyzed, and another stroke in 2008.
Nate Dogg was a four-time Grammy nominee and a major participant in the West Coast G-Funk sound, contributing memorable and chart-topping hooks to hits spanning the past two decades, starting with his heavy featuring on Dr. Dre's The Chronic.
Rapper Snoop Dogg took to his twitter just hours following the death of Nate Dogg saying
"We lost a true legend n hip hop n rnb," he tweeted last night. "One of my best friends n a brother to me since 1986 when I was a sophomore at poly high where we met." Snoop Dogg later went on saying "I love you buddy luv. U will always b wit me 4ever n a day u put the g n g funk u put the 1 n 213 n u put yo stamp on evrybdy u ever didit wit. I miss u cuzz I am so sad but so happy I got to grow up with u and I will c u again n heaven cuz u know d slogan... all doggs go to heaven yo homie n baby brotha bigg snoopdogg!! RIP NATE DOGG."

Star Jones: Lisa Rinna Harassing Me!

NEW YORK, NY - The Celebrity Apprentice costars butted heads on this week's episode of the show, with Rinna being kicked off after she was appointed team leader on a children's book project. She heard the dreaded "You're fired!" in the boardroom after she flubbed the task and then threw her team under the bus. Rinna singled out Jones, accusing the former View host of trying to take full credit for writing the kids' book at the center of the challenge.
Behind the scenes, the sniping has gotten even uglier, with Jones claiming she has been targeted by Rinna's "foul" tweets and emails—attacks so nasty that Jones has sicced some bigwig lawyers on Rinna.
Jones says she has been constantly bad-mouthed by Rinna since the show wrapped (Celeb Apprentice began taping last fall; all episodes but the live finale have been shot). To back up the claim, Jones has gathered the series of tweets dating back months and a pile of emails from Rinna and turned them in to NBC's legal department, complaining she is being "harassed," according to a source familiar with the situation.
No comment yet from Rinna, who has since deleted the offending tweets, including some of Rinna posing with monster masks and featuring captions like "Great picture of me and Star Jones!!!! " (Although Rinna has removed them, many have been archived online.) Saying that such attacks were "evidence of [Rinna's] instability," Jones also got lawyers from The Trump Organization and from Mark Burnett Productions involved in her fight this week to shut Rinna up.
"Star declined to make the cause of concern public as to not take away from her purpose of doing the show, which is charity," a rep for Jones tells E! News.
NBC declined comment. Calls to lawyers for Trump and Burnett were not immediately returned..
Meanwhile, a source familiar with the back-and-forth tells us that "Star is taking this very seriously."
"Lisa was so furious she was kicked off so early and blamed it all on Star. Lisa went home and started sending nasty emails. Star just collected it all and handed them over. It's in legal's hands now and they've warned Lisa to stop," the insider says. "Star hasn't taken the behind the scenes fight public because she thinks it would ruin Lisa." It's not the first time the Jones has had problems with her costars. She verbally attacked the ladies of The View, calling them "hateful" after she left the show.

HOLLYWOOD, CA - Sorry Pete Wentz... Ashley Simpson says she feels bad for you, but she has no plans on getting back together.
Ashley is looking to keep the relationship on good terms with consideration to their son Bronx, but as for the marriage, even though Pete says he would get back with Ashley in a second, Ashley insists there is just no saving the marriage and she is ready to move on.
Pete Wentz is preparing to leave town for the next month or so, as he is preparing to go on tour, and the ex-couple was only spotted out around town because Ashley was hoping to "lift his spirits" before he sets off on his month long series of concerts.

Casey Royer Arrested

ORANGE COUNTY, CA - A former Social Distortion rock legend, Casey Royer, was arrested last week in his Orange County home after his 12-year-old son called for help after finding the ex-drummer overdosed on heroin.
Police said Casey Royer and his son were watching television when his son noticed Royer losing consciousness. The child ran next-door and notified the neighbors who called 911.
Police say that Royer's home was in complete filth and disaray with garbage and drug paraphernelia scattered everywhere, including needles with traces of heroin.
Once Casey Royer was treated and released from the hospital last week, police caught up with Royer Monday, March 14th, 2011 and arrested him on charges of child endangerment and being under the influence of heroin in possession of drug paraphernelia.
Casey Royer currently sings for a pop-rock band called D.I. who refused to issue a statement at the time this story was written. Police say that Royer is currently being held in jail on $120,000 cash bail. Details as to the current welfare of Casey Royer's son was not immediately available.

Because of your drug abuse, inability to care for yourself or your own child who you put in danger by using drugs in his presense and having used needles laying around your home, you have gone from Hollywood Fame to Hollywood Shame with a front row seat in our Hollywood Hall of Shame!

Aflac Fires Gilbert Gottfried For Tsunami Jokes

HOLLYWOOD, CA - The well known voice of the Aflac Duck for the nationwide Aflac Insurance company is none other than actor and comedian Gilbert Gottfried. That was until he was just fired Monday, March 14th, 2011 for making some highly inappropriate jokes about the recent Tsunami.
In just one day following the March 11th Tsunami in Japan, actor Gilbert Gottfried released some public jokes via Twitter about the natural disaster which has left thousands of people dead, and thousands more still missing. Talk about a very inappropriate time for jokes about a sensitive topic... not that any time would be a good time. I don't think American's would like it very much if a public figure joked about 9/11.
A couple of the Tsunami jokes tweeted by Gilbert Gottfried on Twitter are below:
Gilbert Gottfried has yet to release a public apology for the uncalled for Tsunami jokes, but certainly he will be sorry for getting kicked to the curb by Aflac and destroying his reputation with a few tweets... I thought ducks quack? Silly duck, tweeting is for birds! For this reason Gilbert Gottfried has gone from Hollywood Fame to Hollywood Shame... Welcome to our Hollywood Hall of Shame Gottfried!!
Aflac has since released a statement saying "Gilbert’s recent comments about the crisis in Japan were lacking in humor and certainly do not represent the thoughts and feelings of anyone at Aflac ... Aflac will immediately set plans in motion to conduct a nationwide casting call to find a new voice of the iconic Aflac Duck."
We attempted to get Gilbert Gottfried to comment, but the only comment we got from him was "How did you get this number?!" My response to Gottfried was "I just looked you up in the D-Lister's in Hollywood, it wasn't hard to find you" and just like that Gottfried dropped the call... almost as quick as Aflac put an end to this quack. - Phillip Brunelle - HollywoodShame.com

Richard Hatch Sent Back To Jail

PROVIDENCE, RI - Survivor reality show winner, Richard Hatch, has turned himself into US Marshals in Providence, RI today for a federal probation violation which stemmed from his failure to pay taxes on his previous $1MIL winnings.
Rumor was that Richard Hatch would have to serve nine months, however a US District Attorney suggested six months to a Providence federal judge this afternoon.
Richard Hatch first failed to report his taxes for 2000 and 2001 and was later ordered to pay the IRS in excess of $400,000 and when Hatch failed to pay this money, he was sentenced to three years in prison. Upon his release he was put on supervised probation, one of the conditions was to re-file his previous years taxes, which he still failed to do. The IRS is now demanding $1.7MIL dollars in back-taxes and penalities and interest, almost double his $1MIL winnings from the Survivor show.
Is this insane, or is this reasonable considering his failure to pay for such a long period of time, and his lack to comply with his probation to at least attempt to pay any of the money owed?
The big question buzzing right now is if Richard Hatch will be out of jail in time for the final live show of Celebrity Apprentice. Although the shows have just begun airing, all of the shows have already been filmed except the final live show. Lips are locked about whether or not Hatch has made the final two contestants or not of Donald Trump's reality show, however Hatch may have some outside help from an influencial person to get him out of jail sooner.
In an interview with People Magazine Donald Trump said that he is going to see what he can do to get Richard Hatch out of jail sooner, possibly on "good behavior"... Is this code for Donald Trump will be paying the back-taxes owed to the IRS? Donald Trump has confirmed that he is "thinking about it".
This leads us to believe that Richard Hatch has either left a very impressionable reputation with Trump, or Hatch just may be one of the final two contestants and is expected to film the final live show.
If Richard Hatch is in fact one of the final contestants it will put Donald Trump's Celebrity Apprentice complete in jeopardy for this season since all of the shows have already been filmed and there is no going back should Hatch be in the final. Hatch will either need to be out by the time of the final show, or Donald Trump is going to have to run a live feed from the federal prison to reveal the Celebrity Apprentice winner... this should be interesting!
Whether Richard Hatch wins the Celebrity Apprentice or not he has certainly taken himself from Hollywood Fame to Hollywood Shame with his failure to pay Uncle Sam and his failure to comply with his probation and court orders. Welcome to our Hollywood Hall of Shame Richard Hatch!!

TV REVIEW: Gold Rush Alaska

ALASKA - Season one of the Discovery Channel's reality show Gold Rush Alaska has come to an end, and Phillip Brunelle of Hollywood Shame would like to share his two-cents on his thoughts of the show in this television review.
Gold Rush Alaska is a docu-reality series which airs on the Discovery Channel network.
The Discovery Channel's description of the television show is:
In the face of the economic meltdown, six men risk everything to strike it rich mining for gold in the wilds of Alaska. Todd Hoffman of Sandy, Oregon, along with his father, lead a group of greenhorn miners in search of the American dream and a new frontier. Gold fever is back, and the rush is on.The Hollywood Shame description on this show is slightly different. The only rush displayed in the show was one of the cast members rushing home, the daughter of another cast member being rushed to the hospital, and the Gold Rush team rushing to fix mistake after mistake in each and every episode.
Owner of HollywoodShame.com, Phillip Brunelle said "The entire season I wanted nothing more than for the guys to hit the jackpot, but all they hit was rock bottom, and in the end as they returned home during the Alaskan winter with their heads shamefully held down the only gold they found was dust and a few pebbles, that were not even worthy of being called nuggets".
It wasn't until the last few shows of the season of Gold Rush Alaska that the team even began finding gold. The first several shows of the season featured failures, machine and equipment breakdowns, drama between the guys as they continuously fought with each other, money being wasted as they continued on searching for gold in all the wrong ways, more money being wasted as they made a poor decision to fly their families out to Alaska when they could barely afford to get by every day as it was, complete ignorance of the right way to search for gold, the right way to run their equipment, a lack of communication and huge aplha-male egos that got in the way of anyone accepting help from other successful gold miners just trying to help.
Shockingly, the Discovery Channel will be bringing the Gold Rush Alaska show back for another season this year, and if you have seen the first season of the show, certainly you agree with us that this was a poor decision by the network.
Supposedly the team feels as though after all of their epic failures that they finally know what needs to be done to hit the motherlode, but after giving the show an entire season to prove this, we can only say that it was a complete waste of time and a failure television show that we won't be watching.

Olivia Wilde Files For Divorce

LOS ANGELES, CA - After eight years of marriage, another Hollywood couple's marriage is heading to court. House actress Olivia Wilde filed for divorce Friday stating "irreconcilable differences" with her husband Tao Ruspoli.

Olivia Wilde is an actress and model. She began acting in the early 2000s, and has since appeared in a number of film and television parts, including roles in the series The O.C. and The Black Donnellys. She portrays Dr. Remy "Thirteen" Hadley in the TV drama House, and in 2010 starred as Quorra in Tron: Legacy.
Tao Ruspoli is a filmmaker and musician. Ruspoli is the second son of occasional actor and aristocrat Prince Alessandro Ruspoli, 9th Prince of Cerveteri and Austrian-American actress Debra Berger. He is the older brother of Bartolomeo dei Principi Ruspoli.
Wilde and Ruspoli were married on June 7, 2003 in Washington, Virginia. They were together for eight years until they separated on January 5th, 2011 and will now have their case heard by the Los Angeles Superior Court later this month.

Mel Gibson Charged With Assault

CALIFORNIA - Mel Gibson is heading to court today after the Los Angeles District Attorney filed charges against the actor for misdemeanor battery. Sources for TMZ say that Mel Gibson will not face any jail time.
While Mel Gibson was charged by the Los Angeles DA Oksana Grigorieva will not face any charges. It's rumored that Gibson is taking a plea bargain that will include probation with court ordered counseling, but he will not serve anytime in jail for the offense.
Mel had been agonizing over the impending criminal charge -- related to the January 6, 2010 blowout with Oksana Grigorieva -- worried that a prolonged court fight would be a strain on his family, particularly his children. Even though Mel believed he could win the case -- he struck the deal to protect his loved ones.
When contacted for a response, Mel's lawyer, Blair Berk, released the following statement to TMZ: "I know from almost 20 years as a criminal defense lawyer that sometimes justice can come for a client at too high a personal price. That is particularly so for Mel, whose right to due process can only be exercised in this case with an enormous media circus attached."
Berk goes on, "Mel's priority throughout all of this has been that the best interests of his young daughter Lucia and the rest of his children be put first in any decisions made. It is with only that in mind that he asked me to approach the District Attorney with a proposal that would bring all of this to an immediate end."
